Friends of Good Kids Farm

Friends of Great Kids Farm, Inc. is a nonprofit organization created to support, promote and enhance the programming at Baltimore City Public Schools’ Great Kids Farm and the district’s Farm to School (F2S) programming. They work with City Schools to bring students to the 33-acre urban farm, where the kids engage directly with farming activities and food preparation.

Working with a small but passionate team of board members, our mission was to enhance the online presence of Friends of Great Kids Farm, ensuring it effectively communicates the organization’s impact, compels financial sponsors, and fosters community engagement.

My Services

A comprehensive audit identified areas for improvement in content organization and navigation flow. This involved streamlining and trimming unnecessary content while reorganizing key sections to enhance user experience. My efforts resulted in a cleaner, more intuitive site structure that better supports the organization’s mission and audience engagement.

I created detailed wireframes to visualize the structure and user flow, ensuring clarity and consistency across the nonprofit’s key pages. The wires served as a blueprint for the larger team, streamlining collaboration and aligning design with our goals.

I ensured the nonprofit’s website adhered to WCAG accessibility standards by carefully implementing proper color contrast, descriptive alt tags, and accurate HTML markup. Additionally, I optimized metadata to improve screen reader compatibility.

I implemented a mobile-first design approach and thoroughly tested the responsiveness across various screen sizes and devices.

To empower the nonprofit team to manage the website independently, I created a library of instructional videos. These concise guides cover essential tasks, such as adding board member bios, ensuring they can make updates without frustration.

AI Education

I developed this microlearning guide to provide nonprofits with an overview of various AI tools designed to streamline operations, enhance communication, and increase overall efficiency. From content creation and donor engagement to image generation and video production, these tools empower nonprofit teams to achieve more with fewer resources.
